LASER CUT DRAWINGS

Custom Index

What drawings are required?

GENERAL -
Laser cutting in general uses a file called a "dxf" file which essentially stands for drawing interchange format or drawing exchange format. Most graphic designers and autocad users can save in dxf format as well as some high end drawing programs.

CAN I START WITH A SKETCH? -
You sure can. The point is then you need to get someone to turn it into a drawing for you and produce it as a dxf file. In general if you find a designer who understands that you intend to use it for a laser cut panel and you get a blank look you might be better with another designer. Those with experience will not only have the software capabilities but and understanding of adjustments required to ensure that it cuts well and you get what you want.

CAN WE DO THE DRAWINGS? -
Yes we can although we prefer to concentrate on cutting as graphic artists we are not. If you present something too complicated we will get a price from one of our contractors for you.

WILL WE CHECK THE DRAWINGS? -
Most certainly. We check all drawings prior to loading as we need to nest them in the machine however some drawings can be very complex and we are relying on the accuracy of the supplied file. Having said that we do pick up most errors before cutting.
